Note from the Author: I have taken community feedback and advice and made several changes to the scenario in order to make it a much better playing experience. This version is the current ‘final’ version.

Author/Creator : Gary Walker all credits goes to him.

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; the stockings were hung by the chimney with care, all In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there…’ Alas it would be on this strange dark night that people should see a most terrible sight. An ancient evil would instead arrive, all because for some, the Christmas spirit had died.  Can you stop this ancient evil? Or will you witness what happens when we stop believing in St Nicholas?

Dark Khristmas is a self-contained standalone print and play scenario for Arkham Horror the Card Game. It does not require any cards from the core box. This is a complete ‘Beta’ version that despite rigorous alterations and play testing will no doubt have changes made to it in the near future with help and feedback from the awesome Arkham horror community. ‘Full bleed’ files will be added to the pdf version choice at a later date.

My verdict:

Background story:4 out of 5 stars (4.0 / 5)
Visual experience:5 out of 5 stars (5.0 / 5)
Overall experience:5 out of 5 stars (5.0 / 5)
Average:4.7 out of 5 stars (4.7 / 5)

Great theme and atmosphere, the mythos deck needs a complete overhaul, scrap it all.

Seems like the PDF is missing cards? Tried playing and missing “Face your Fears treachery” (requested from Drawing room location Forced text) Also – are all street locations connected to each other? And after 4 doom – lead draws Prezents card – got teddy bear – no where to spawn – does it then follow Arkham LCG rules and then go to encounter card discard pile?

MNash, I’ll look into it and post a reply later once I’ve sent Carsten updated files for missing cards.👍

Tried playing again. We finished but never found when/where to add the family misfortunes encounter set into the game.

Thanks for playing it! When you defeat the ‘Thing Underneath’ and flip the card over to its story side, It provides instructions to remove an encounter set and also to add the Family Misfortunes set. Hope this helps.

It looks like the treachery file didn’t go through properly so I’ll fix that and send Carsten an update. All of the starting locations ARE connected to one another (I’ll amend the Campaign guide to reflect this). The Teddy Klaws card has spawn instructions for the Kids Bedroom.

scenario guide front page typo
use use -> use.
Overall the font size is unpleasantly small, increasing text makes the print more pleasing to the eye.

on p.1 you state 2-4 players (so not soloable), on p.3 it’s choose investigator(s). Remove the parentheses (or state 1-4 players).

the dashes on easy/standard/hard/expert have different length.

the tom engel’s family part needs some rewrite, setting is convoluted for no reason.
were -> we’re
is an understatement -> would be an understatement

I can send you a corrected text if you have time.

Thanks for taking an interest. Whilst this ‘was’ a final version, I’m more than happy to make updates/changes to fix glaring typos etc that we may have missed. I’d love to see your corrected text. Might be an idea to send it via email though. If you send them to garywalker1975@gmail.com. Thanks again!
